Social housing project
This project explored the feasibility of delivering highly flexible apartment layouts on the client's site. with a particular focus on maximising the number and size of bedrooms paired with private ensuites.

The core design idea was to create apartments that can operate across multiple housing models without requiring physical reconfiguration. By designing each bedroom as a self-contained private suite, the apartments can support a range of living arrangements — including social housing with rent-by-room models, student accommodation, flatmate living, and adaptable long-term residential use.

The brief centred on testing the spatial limits of the site: determining the maximum achievable bedroom and ensuite sizes while maintaining comfortable shared living spaces and a coherent apartment experience. Equal importance was placed on understanding how these layouts would feel internally — balancing privacy, independence, and communal living quality.

The outcome is a layout approach that prioritises adaptability, allowing each apartment to shift between different occupancy models over time while preserving a consistent architectural quality and residential experience.
